Since Covid and the vaccine, everyone who choose to get the shot should seek out their physician and continue monitoring their heart health. Great videos.
Hi Tim I am so glad I found your videos as they are very informative and honest. I had MI six months ago and have done the cardiac rehab which was great but need to move on and find mental strength and physical strength and balance with life .Youre videos are really great. Please keep making more.
Hope you’re taking pre race low dose aspirin 👍
Wish you had not done the hot tub on the delta. That might have had a dramatic impact, and since you didn’t do it the day before, thanks for the content. Loved the idea, ideally recreate with 30,60,90 readings and the exact same acrivity. Thanks for the content!
Good luck, Tim - I had a disastrous short course triathlon in Bournemouth last September, followed by a near fatal heart attack in March this year. Just taking it easy, slow walking etc. Can't help thinking about Ironman training - how crazy is that!
After the heart attack, my LDL-C is now 34 mg/dl and my Trigly is 12 mg/dl. My lipo/A is 19 mg/dl. I hope for the best
You’re inspiration! I’m a recreational marathoner in my 40s who recently discovered some very important information from a CAC score - indeed, being fit can be deceiving! It’s great to see that you made a great recovery and that you’re thriving with your beautiful family!! Thanks for raising the awareness ❤️
I’m wondering what made you guys think that 30 minutes was the optimal amount of time to test? In my opinion, your test was flawed and highly doubtful that you achieve the peak.
It isn't, it is optimal for Delta G. DeltaG is a sponsor and we know it peaks faster than Ketone IQ. Ketone IQ is a slower lower peak but lasts longer.
I’m right there with you..Endurance Cyclist here..LAD 100% blockage, stent almost 2 years ago. Ejection fraction back up to 60. On meds….I‘be watched your story so many times. ❤
Tried my first bottle of Keto IQ after a cycling workout. My ride was pretty hard- 35 miles @average speed 17 mph/200 watt average/ climbing 2500 vertical feet. About 30-40 minutes after drinking it, I had an awesome exercise high and felt energized. Tastes bad but not a dealbreaker.
The biggest thing is take ownership of your health by getting checkups and be being your own advocate. I had similar situation five years ago . Just because you’re fit doesn’t mean it can happen to you!
Yes, please keep talking about heart health! It is a great reminder for us all! I also appreciate your health updates! We all want you all to be healthy and happy for a long time!
We are all extremly pleased to hear that u are now an ex Tri...sometime ago we did recommend that after an heart attack u should stop racing and start training only to your own fitness...it seems u have now come to your senses, specially with a new baby it's important that u keep fighting the future to see all your children grow...we all know how it is in general with heart attacks...the 1st u survive the second takes u five feet under...
The shot “Tactical” where do you buy this ?
Tim your apob and LDL-C are incredibly high post heart attack. You should seek out information from Thomas Dayspring or Peter Attia and consider getting something known as an Lp(a) test. Especially given your level of fitness and age, you may be a carrier for this LDL variant. Bob Harper of the Biggest Loser has this variant and had an MI at a similar age.
Being a cardiac nurse I can't thank you enough for all your sharing BUT I wish #InsideTracker & #AmericanHeartAssociation would make a commercial using you as the example. Continue success in all your adventures,
Glad to here from you. I'm so glad you are still competing.
Appreciate this next step forward, hoping you can share as much as possible. Thank you
good to see you T.O. and back being healthy
Thank you for sharing. We have very similar Cholesterol levels. Hopefully, you can share a follow up video on your cholesterol in about 3-6 months. I want no part of taking cholesterol reducing drugs, so I’ve been on a bad cholesterol killing war path with daily avocado, aerobic and anaerobic work, loads of Psyllium Husk capsules and even more water.
stay off animal products
A cautionary tale that too much wine and red meat can affect even the healthiest people on the planet.
Red meat is a killer
My parents lived in their 90s on red meat , eggs….
Tim, I appreciate your videos on heart health and sharing your results. I had a heart attack 1 year and 3 mos. ago, and I've been able to keep my LDL low with diet, exercise and a statin. Your journey from racing to heart attack to heart health has been my journey. I can't thank you enough for the suggestion of the CTA test. Mine showed my LAD blockage and I got a stent, but a heart attack happened at the hospital not on a bike course. Little humor there. I got help because of you. God bless you and thank you, Tim O'Donnell! Forever grateful!
Comparing two different types of Ketones for two different types of performance.
If you really don’t like swimming, you can do a Duathlon run-bike-run.
Has a heart attack, finishes the competition, lives to tell about it.. what a story! Thanks for sharing!!!
I just had a heart attack at 33. (99% blocked LAD aka widowmaker) with no obvious causes. 6’1” 180lbs low cholesterol and triglycerides. The works. Had been cycling for a year and was really hitting my stride. 4 months post stent now and back on the bike. The meds really hit the max heart rate. Haven’t gotten it above 168 (and my doc would like me to keep it below 85% of max). Were you able to eventually come off the meds and crank your heart rate back up?
You both look like great parents!!! Tim...keep it going...i am a triathlete....long course...never have followed you much in the past...but with your heart attack, and your grit and courage coming back.....i am a true FAN!!!. Keep it going . You are one tough guy...David Goggins would be impressed!! as I am!!!!
Wow very inspiring video. I remembered when I was got my heart attack, I'm looking for a person who can motivate me that can help me inspired to go back what Im doing to be actively fit. Thanks a lot for this video. And now I already subscribed.
To be keto, you just eat keto. Voila.
Worst video ever. I hoped to actually learn something about how to use ketones and what impact to expect on performance. But got nothing. If you are trying to help your sponsor flog more snake oil we need way more info than this silly video provided.
Given that exogenous ketones have virtually zero clinical studies supporting their benefits in endurance sports, gonna be hard to make a video with any useful content…
That would be a separate video, I’m sure if you asked nicely and not like a jerk they would entertain the suggestion
@TriDotCoachCaleb very happy to be "the jerk" who calls a spade a spade on this one. It was a useless video that took us all for fools and wasted our precious time.
Buy a bottle, see for yourself.
Need to compare at 1 hr and 90 minutes.. supposedly ketone IQ has a slower ramp but longer peak
Came here to say this. What is the prolonged effect? The straight ester might by a shorter lasting peak.
you are so tough and strong....wow!!! as is your husband. i am a football guy and also do triathlons.....your toughness is like an NFL Middle linebacker...WOW!!!!!
two class acts greg and tim. i am an age group triathlete am proud to be part of this family of triathletes.....great job both of you!!!!!
i dont get it...i do tri ironmans,,,,i am 66 years old...maybe i Should stop....is it going to happen to me!!...a general physical will not tell me if i have a clogged artery...i am healthy...insurance won't pay for a CTA scan until i have a heart attack. it doesn't make sense
"Naturally, we fly private". Good grief!
i love this guy. but you have to think about your family.....heart issues as a pro tri....you have got to be crazy......give it up...get a real job for your family...still work out and be fit but your pro days are over...do this for your wife and kids....dont be selfish!!! you cant have it all!!!
Makes me think ducking out of high level endurance training at age 21 was the right choice.
Let's be real...am a huge tri fan... Please priotize...kids and family first..you will never win another ironman...you are a mom..which is good..main focus is how to earn a salary to support your family as a non triathlete..i am concerned that you and your husband...tim...who suffered a heart attack don't have the skills to survive in a non tri environment unless you do some on line coaching...no wins means no sponsors
I'm pretty sure it's not typical to fly private for citizens making this unrelatable to us.
a true legend...but if she retires and has a family and has probably at least 50 years of life to go...where does the monthly income come from??? how does she and her husband...who recently suffered a heart attack.. survive??? it could be a really sad story in 20 years...best of luck...try coaching
Great meeting you and having you on the Marni On The Move podcast!
InsideTracker is the best. Doing my quarterly biomarker bloodwork this month!
Don't retire please
Congrats on the podium finish TO. 2024 needs you for one last go around
Hi, Tim. Wondering if you're taking a statin or trying to keep cholesterol low with diet. Thanks for sharing your blood report!
I have similar curiosity regarding the statins. I took mine for 11 months, I feel it is interfering with muscle gain
Pretty sure Tim isn’t on them hey mate?
The gray in the beard...father time and all...loves the funny clips. Great Vid. Best of luck with Salty Bears from an old submariner. Go Navy!
When Rinny announced her retirement Tim said he would do another season, perhaps this video is him saying he may go for another season…perhaps at the olympic distance until he retires?
ill be racing it too! first race back from a concussion
as being maybe the only NYer in SB…you will definitely see me out there..my apartment is blocks from swim and bike transition and the run out of park and across 96 will be most elevation gain …park is rolling until “cat hill” steep at 3.6 mile .. dry steep but short (you will down it) once you turn around at 5mile the last mile probably be your fastest..you will hear this Salty Bear out there.hopefully i can get my “Tim and Rinny” hat signed. Good luck …happy birthday! mine is the week after😊
You get on your knees for K Blu...
